Bring back your glow – inside & out!

By March 27, 2017 Advice No Comments

We all crave that gorgeous glow. No matter how overworked, under-the-weather and  stressed-out we are, the daily challenges that our bodies and faces are exposed to leave the skin’s natural renewal system rather weary.

Here are our beauty boosting tips that will bring back your healthy-looking glow from the inside, out!

Abdominal breathing

Release built up stress with simple abdominal breathing exercises. Take deep, steady breathes in through your nose, filling your belly with as much air as you can and breathing out though your mouth.  Repeat for as long as you can for complete relaxation. The benefits of abdominal breathing include:

  • Helps to lower blood pressure
  • Helps to lower blood sugar
  • Eliminates free radicals
  • Improves mental focus and clarity by increasing blood flow to pre-frontal cortex of your brain
  • Improves sleep quality
  • Balances stress hormones

Healthy fats

Healthy fats such as coconut oil, nuts, seeds, avocados, and olive oil are skin health superheroes when added to a balanced diet. Our favourite meal of choice at the moment is Baked Avacado – its so quick, simple and provides a tasty option for breakfast, lunch & dinner! Try it for yourself ☺

Look tan-tastic!

Self-tan is a great way to get an instant glow. For best results, exfoliate your skin using a non-oily exfoliator, such as Elemis’ Ginger & Lime Salt Scrub, taking particular care of any dry areas such as your knees and elbows. Once exfoliated, follow with an oil free moisturiser before applying your chosen self-tan. To maintain your tan, moisturise daily and exfoliate with an non-oily scrub twice a week; reapplying tan as and when required.

Drink plenty of water

Not only will drinking the recommended daily amount of water keep your body hydrated and healthy, it is also proven to make your skin look plumper and more radiant.

Get active

Avoid the bus, lift & escalators and stay active. Exercise is the perfect remedy for a dull, tired complexion. It helps to open up tiny arteries to increase blood flow to the surface of the skin, contributing to a healthy and radiant glow.
