Gorgeous fingers and toes are a staple need during the summer months and whether you’re hitting the beach, lounging by the pool or camping in the woods, we know you’ll want your nails to be looking fabulous this summer.
Bright summer sunshine and water fun can cause serious damage to our nails so it’s hugely important to take a few simple steps to care for what’s under the varnish.
Prepare and protect your fingers and toes this summer with our top nail care tips:
1. Toughen Up
We recommend that you regularly use a nail strengthener. Our favourite is OPI’s Nail Envy which is full of minerals and wheat protein. For best results apply two coats on to clean nails and then apply a coat every other day.
2. Give them a boost
Eating a well-balanced diet filled with protein, vitamins and minerals can help you in achieving stronger nails. Try to include a good balance of eggs, nuts, meat and fish (particularly salmon), fruit and veg and dairy products everyday.
3. Soak it up
Soak your nails in coconut oil or bathing salts to protect and re-mineralise your hands, feet and nails.
4. Invest in a good cream
Hand and foot creams moisturise right down to the fifth layer of your skin, strengthening your cuticles and nails. By using creams you will prevent your nails from braking and getting hang nail. We recommend the Elemis British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter!
